Explore Bowdoin 2024 Application

The Explore Bowdoin program offers high-achieving students, who are low-income and/or first-generation-to-college, an all-expenses paid trip to spend two days on Bowdoin’s campus in Maine.

Dates and deadlines for the programs are:

Explore Bowdoin I: September 19-21, 2024
Explore Bowdoin II: October 24-26, 2024

Deadline to apply: August 14, 2024

This application will take approximately 30-60 minutes to complete. Please note the application form will not save your progress and it is recommended that you complete the form in one session. There are 2 brief short answer responses as part of the application. If you would like to draft your short answers prior to completing the rest of your application, you may find the prompts at the bottom of this page.

For your application to be considered complete, you must submit a transcript by the application deadline. You may submit it when you apply or at later time in your portal.

Navigating Through Differences (250 words)
Bowdoin believes that only through building a more diverse and inclusive campus community will the College best prepare graduates to be contributing and useful citizens of the world. Every graduate of this institution should be confident in their preparation to be able to navigate through differences and in all sorts of situations. A Bowdoin education does not guarantee these skills, but it does impart a set of tools necessary to bravely enter unfamiliar conditions with the confidence to deal effectively with ambiguity.
