Here are some answers to some most frequently asked questions. Don’t see your question answered here? Email it to questbridge@bowdoin.edu. We’re here to help.

    QuestBridge

Bowdoin does not require supplemental essays to be included as part of the National College Match application (only the Testing Preferences Selection form). Should you apply to Bowdoin with your QuestBridge application outside of the Match, the optional supplemental essays will be available to submit in your Application Portal.

Yes, you may submit the Common Application or the Coalition on Scoir Application. However, it is not necessary to submit another application in addition to or in place of your QuestBridge application to apply to Bowdoin. If you submit a Common App or Coalition application, that application will be considered your primary application. If you choose to use your QB application, you will need to complete the Bowdoin supplement form which will appear on the checklist in your Bowdoin Application Portal.

Indicate your intention to apply Regular Decision to Bowdoin by contacting QuestBridge using the QB Regular Decision Form, and QuestBridge will forward us your application in December.

If you are applying ED1 or ED2, email us your QB ID number and intended round prior to the deadline for that round.

In all cases, you will need to complete the Bowdoin Supplement and have your school counselor send your most recent transcript. ED applicants will also need to complete the ED agreement. The supplement and any ED agreement can be found in your Application Portal.

You will not need to re-submit anything, but please do complete the Bowdoin Supplement found in your Application Portal and have a school official send us a transcript with your midyear grades when it becomes available.

There are several options for submitting materials:

Electronically: We receive materials through a multitude of electronic services, including but not limited to: ParchmentNational Student ClearinghouseSCOIR and Slate.org

Please contact QuestBridge directly to let them know of your desire to withdraw from the Match Process.

We will accept the transcript that comes with your QuestBridge application. Please also ask your school counselor to send your most recent transcript (Quarter 1 or mid-year) when it becomes available.
